New to Unit Types? See Setting Up Multiple Units first.
The Parent-Child Listing Functionality allows you to advertise your property multiple ways - either as a whole, or in parts.
(For example: a cottage rented as a whole house OR by individual bedrooms, or an apartment block rented as one booking OR as separate apartments)
Zeevou makes sure you don't end up with double bookings. If your entire property gets booked, all individual units will be blocked. If any individual unit gets booked, the entire property will be blocked, while other units remain bookable.
How to Set This Up:
1. Create the Overall Listing. Create a Listing for your entire property. Zeevou will automatically create a Unit Type that represents the entire property (this is what guests can book).
2. Add the Individual Units. Create separate Unit Types within that Listing for each unit (if you have multiple identical units, you can group these under one Unit Type).
3. Link the Calendars (so bookings block each other)
This step ensures that bookings automatically block the right calendars:
Export the iCal links from your individual unit’s unit type. Make sure to use the option that excludes Blocked Dates when exporting.
Import these into the whole property’s unit type.
Export the iCal link from the whole property’s unit type. Make sure to use the option that excludes Blocked Dates when exporting.
Import this into each unit’s unit type.
Result: This option helps you advertise both the entire place and individual rooms at the same time. Guests can book either the entire property OR individual units, and Zeevou prevents double bookings automatically.
Note: If you want to block dates, these will not feed across from one unit to another, so you will need to block both manually if that’s the case. Only bookings will auto-block associated units.
