New to Unit Types? Learn how Zeevou organizes Listings, Unit Types, and Units first.
Yes — if you want guests to book both the entire property and its individual units.
No — if guests can only book individual units. You can skip this section and continue to the next step.
Offer guests two ways to book the same property:
The whole property — for example, an entire cottage or apartment building.
Individual units — for example, individual bedrooms or apartments within that property.
Zeevou uses connected calendars to help prevent conflicting bookings between the whole property and its individual units.
Zeevou uses a parent-child listing structure, with calendar syncing between the whole property and its individual units, to help prevent conflicting bookings. This means:
When the whole property is booked → the connected individual-unit calendars are blocked.
When an individual unit is booked → the connected whole-property calendar is blocked, while other units remain available.
This allows you to advertise the property as a whole and in parts without creating overlapping bookings.
Create a Listing for the entire property.
Zeevou automatically creates a Unit Type representing the whole property. This is what guests book when they choose the entire property.
Create the individual accommodation as separate Unit Types within the property.
If you have multiple identical units, you can group them under the same Unit Type.
For example:
Listing: Seaside Cottage
Unit Type: Whole Property
Unit Type: Bedroom 1
Unit Type: Bedroom 2
Unit Type: Bedroom 3
If you have multiple identical individual units, you can group them under the same Unit Type instead of creating a separate Unit Type for each one.
For more information, see Set Up Multiple Units Within One Property.
To make bookings update the whole-property and individual-unit calendars:
Export the iCal links from the individual Unit Types.
Select the option to exclude Blocked Dates when exporting.
Import these iCal links into the whole-property Unit Type.
Export the iCal link from the whole-property Unit Type.
Again, select the option to exclude Blocked Dates.
Import this iCal link into each individual Unit Type.
Once connected, bookings will automatically update the relevant calendars.
Bookings are automatically shared between connected calendars, but manually blocked dates are not.
If you manually block a date, you must block it separately on the relevant whole-property and individual-unit calendars.
Example
If you manually block 1–5 August on the whole-property calendar, manually block the same dates on the relevant individual-unit calendars as well.
This prevents those dates from remaining available on another booking option.
You have Seaside Cottage with:
Whole Property
Bedroom 1
Bedroom 2
Bedroom 3
If a guest books Seaside Cottage as a whole, all three bedrooms become unavailable.
If a guest books Bedroom 1, the whole cottage becomes unavailable, while Bedrooms 2 and 3 remain available.
This allows you to sell the property both as a whole and in parts while preventing overlapping bookings.
