Managing security deposits is simple when you follow these steps. This guide will walk you through logging a security deposit, charging it, and releasing funds when needed.
Log a Security Deposit
Log into your Zeevou account.
Go Finace tab of the booking, on the Security Deposit card
Click on More to log a new deposit.
A window will appear.
Enter the Amount, Date, and Time.
Select the Payment Type from the drop-down menu.
(Optional) Add a Reference and Description.
Click Log to save the deposit.
Charge or Release a Security Deposit
Click on Charge & Release.
A window will open.
Select the Penalty Type.
Enter the Associated Cost, Amount to Capture, and Reason.
Click Save and Close to complete the action.
Note 1: If the booking status is 'Booked,' Charge & Release is not shown.
Note 2: You need to check the guest in before you can charge their deposit.
Charging Deposits Paid via Gateway
If the deposit was paid via a payment gateway, click Charge & Release.
A window will appear with charging options.
Choose Capture Now to process immediately.
Choose Log Charge to record the charge without immediate processing.
Note that Logged security deposits are those recorded in the system—often manually entered when received outside of Zeevou. Captured security deposits mean that the authorised deposit has actually been charged from the guest’s card, typically via our pre-authorisation process.
