The Channel Deal feature in Zeevou allows hosts to define commission rates for different booking channels (such as Booking.com or Airbnb) to ensure commissions are accurately reflected in the Monthly Performance Report (MPR). When a booking includes commission details from the channel, those values are shown directly in the MPR. If no commission is provided, Zeevou automatically calculates it using the predefined channel deal rate. The same logic applies to manual bookings, where the correct commission is applied based on the channel deal settings.
Channel Deals also prevent overlapping agreements for the same channel, property, and time period, helping maintain clear, consistent, and accurate commission records. This automation reduces discrepancies, improves financial reporting, and gives hosts a clear view of their net earnings.

Commissions are automatically added in the following cases:
API-Connected Listings: If the listing is connected to a channel via API (e.g., Booking.com, Airbnb), the commission is automatically applied based on the channel's integration settings.
Channel Deals for Manual Bookings: If a manual booking is created and there's an existing channel deal set up for that channel, the commission will also be applied automatically.
There are two types of channels used for calculating commissions: PRE and POST.
PRE: In this type, the channel deducts its commission before sending the booking to us, and we receive the remaining amount. Therefore, we must display the total amount paid by the guest, which is calculated as the Total Price in XML plus the channel's deducted commission.
POST: Here, we receive the full reservation amount upfront. After the guest checks out, the host calculates the invoices with the channels.
For example, Expedia operates as a PRE channel type. To calculate the commission for bookings where the channel has not pre-set a commission (such as SU), we use the following formula:
Actual Total Price = Total Price in XML รท (1 - (Channel Deal Percentage Per Booking รท 100))
Channel Commission = Actual Total Price - Total Price in XML
Note: This formula is a standard method we use for other organizations, and they are satisfied with it.
If discrepancies arise between our calculations and Expedia's, we propose two possible solutions:
The Channel Deal percentage might need adjustment.
Expedia's calculation method should be reviewed. They might be using a different or updated approach, and we may need to align with it.
